The recipient is a natural or legal person, a public authority, an agency or another body, to whom the personal data are disclosed, regardless of whether they are third parties or not. However, public authorities that may receive personal data in a particular investigation in accordance with Union or Member State law are not considered as recipients; the processing of such data by these public authorities must comply with the applicable data protection rules in accordance with the purposes of the processing.
